I am a biology nerd. I love learning and exploring form and function in organisms. I fell in love with anatomy while pursuing my undergraduate degree, and eventually served as a teaching assistant. It was there I discovered the remarkable anatomical and physiologic changes that take place throughout pregnancy, and knew that I had found my specialty. I graduated magnum cum laude with a B.S. in health science and minors in biology and studio arts. After graduation in winter 2015, I attended a DONA birth doula skills workshop and started taking birth doula clients in Spring 2016. I also started a job as clinical staff at Dakota Lions Sight and Health, and had the privilege of caring for individuals at death. I worked for one year helping process human tissue for donation.
I understand sterile procedure, food preparation safety, and am blood borne pathogen certification. This value is equally shared with the Association of Placenta Preparation Arts, which is why Kelsie chose this particular training program to become a certified Placenta Arts Specialist.
