After graduating from the University of South Dakota in 2015 with a Bachelor of Health Science, minors in biology and studio art, Kelsie trained to be a birth doula at the Simkin Center for Allied Birth Vocations at Bastyr University near Seattle, Washington. She is certified through DONA international and Association of Placental Preparation Arts, Childbirth Professional International (CPI) and has additional training through Spinning Babies.
Personal experience as a caregiver and patient, professional experience within a private-practice physical medicine and rehabilitation office, and formal education contributes to Kelsie’s unique and comprehensive understanding of the doula role as it fits within the healthcare team. She brings a wholistic perspective to healthcare navigation and healing, and has a passion for healthcare literacy and patient caregiving.
Kelsie believes in the power and benefits of doula role when navigating major transitions, especially when it comes to natural processes such as life and death within a system of disease care management. To date, she has worked with over 100 birthing families and has over four years of elderly caregiving experience.
Kelsie believes that working to nurture and empower an individual, allows for support and enhancement of the family unit, and cultivation of a community.

Renee spent several years in social work before she found her true calling as a birth doula in 2016, when she founded Bloom Birth Services & Design.
Since then she has been certified as a birth and postpartum doula, lactation counselor, and HypnoBirthing educator. Renee has supported over 100 families in the great endeavor of childbirth, and she has a true love of nurturing families as they make their way through the newborn and postpartum period.
Renee is certified through Childbirth Professional International (CPI) for birth and postpartum doula work. She is certified through the Academy of Lactation Policy and Practice (ALPP) for lactation counseling. She is certified through HypnoBirthing International as a childbirth educator.
In continuing her education, Renee has taken special interest in Spinning Babies as a way to better support her clients understand the physiology of pregnancy and birth.
Renee lives in Sioux Falls with her partner, four children, and dogs. Renee believes that birth and postpartum are unique to everyone, and experiences to be had (not just something to get through).
Ashlyn

Ashlyn is a doula currently specializing in postpartum who works with new parents during the fourth trimester. Always an advocate, Ashlyn’s goals are to work with new parents and prioritize the most important needs for parents and baby. She aims to make the postpartum experience something to cherish forever.
Ashlyn believes that new parents need to be cared for and supported while they heal from birth and start their parenting journeys. She aims to instill confidence and ensure that new parents feel validated.
Ashlyn is a helper and care-taker by nature. She has always worked in healthcare in various capacities; whether caring for the elderly or people with developmental/ physical disabilities to working in sexual health and wellness.
Ashlyn has completed coursework through Childbirth Professional International (CPI) for birth and postpartum work. To further help the families she supports, she is also currently continuing her education in babywearing and sleep training.
Ashlyn lives in Sioux Falls with her husband, 4 kids and Corgi. When she isn’t playing super mom or supporting clients she can usually be found curled up with a book.

Emily is a birth and postpartum doula providing care to families in the Sioux Falls area. Sharing the knowledge and resources she has gained, she aims to empower families with the tools they need to make informed decisions regarding their birth and family needs.
Emily’s heart is rooted in serving others. Coming from a career in her family’s bakery, started by her mother in 2009, she developed her lifelong leadership skills, as well as her passion for serving and supporting people no matter the circumstances.
She is certified through Childbirth Professionals International (CPI), and is always searching for opportunities to further her education in the birth field.
Each family’s journey is different, and deserves to be honored. As a doula, Emily provides physical and emotional support to the birthing person during the transformative period of childbirth and postpartum, working alongside the partners to empower and support them as well.
Emily lives in Sioux Falls with her husband, son, and Olde English Bulldogge named Luna. Emily’s spare time is spent with her family, enjoying reading, gardening, and watching movies together.

Ellie’s passion for birth work began with her own birth experiences, especially after using a doula for her second birth. That support left a lasting impact and inspired her to become that steady, reassuring presence for other mothers. She believes every mom deserves to feel heard, respected, and genuinely supported throughout pregnancy, birth, and beyond.
In addition to her doula work, Ellie is a Patient Access Coordinator at Avera in Brookings, with years of experience working in healthcare.
Her approach to birth work is grounded, and compassionate. Ellie is a natural listener and advocate, but she is also known for bringing humor, calm energy, and a sense of lightness into the room when it is needed most. With a background in theatre, she is skilled at reading the room, staying present, and helping people feel comfortable and confident. She deeply values the bond that forms between doulas and birth partners and sees her role as part guide, part cheerleader, and part steady anchor during an incredibly meaningful life moments.
Outside of birth work, Ellie is a mom to two daughters and married to her favorite person. Her family members are her real life doulas and constant support team. She is a cat person, a book lover, an extroverted introvert, a lover of musicals, lemon treats, and can recite every Friends and The Office episode she sees.
Supporting women and families during such a powerful transition is not just her job, it is work she feels truly called to do.

As a birth, postpartum, and transitional doula, Heather’s mission is simple: to ensure every woman feels empowered and every family feels deeply supported during life’s most transformative moments. Her path to birth work began in the classroom as a Family and Consumer Science teacher, but she has always felt a profound pull toward healthcare and the sacred nature of human services.
Heather believes that every story deserves to be defined by dignity and respect. Having experienced six pregnancies and raising five children, she brings a wealth of lived wisdom and deep empathy to her practice. She combines this personal insight with her background in education and a servant’s heart to provide the evidence-based information and hands-on care families need to thrive. Heather is a dedicated advocate and compassionate caregiver who walks alongside her clients with unwavering support.
Heather lives in Sioux Falls with her husband, their five children, and two dogs. When she isn’t supporting families, she fuels her own soul with anything crafty or DIY, finding joy in the art of creating.

Born and raised in France, she has been living in the US for more than a decade.Sandrine is a very down-to-earth and practical person. Living authentically is important to her, and I brings that passion into her practice. She’s not afraid to dive into the complexities of life, holding hands with her clients as they navigate and make sense of it all. As a doula, companion, and coach, Sandrine’s role is to be your steady support, a calm presence, and your greatest encourager during tough times.
Lisa

Lisa graduated from USD with a major in Psychology and a minor in Drug and Alcohol Studies. She worked for LSS before starting a state registered in home daycare. She raised her two boys and helped raise others children for 18 years. For the last 11 years she has helped many clients declutter, organize and downsize through her business, Organizing by Lisa.
Lisa has helped many senior clients downsize and move into smaller living environments. This is when she discovered her love for this age group. It is often an emotional time for the senior and their family members. Lisa has a great ‘listening ear’ and that is what a lot of people appreciate. She also assisted her in-laws during their end of life transitions.
Lisa lives in Sioux Falls with her husband and two dogs. They have two grown sons.
In her free time she likes riding bike, reading, traveling, tending her flower garden and watching the wildlife in her back yard.

Paola (Spanish Speaking Doula)

Paola es doula postparto y es bilingüe en inglés y español. Nació y creció en México y ha vivido en los Estados Unidos durante casi 15 años. El español es su primer idioma y le apasiona apoyar a clientes de habla hispana mientras brinda sus servicios a familias de todos los orígenes.
Paola trabaja en el campo del trabajo social y está comprometida con ayudar a las familias a sentirse apoyadas, empoderadas y capaces de adaptarse con éxito a la vida con un bebé recién nacido. También es profesional certificada en Trust Based Relational Intervention (TBRI).
El objetivo de Paola es brindar atención compasiva y ayudar a las familias a sentirse escuchadas, cómodas y cuidadas durante el período posparto. Fuera del trabajo, disfruta pasar tiempo en la naturaleza y salir a caminar por senderos.
Paola is a postpartum doula who is bilingual in English and Spanish. She was born and raised in Mexico, and has lived in the United States for almost 15 years. Spanish is her first language, and she is passionate about supporting Spanish-speaking clients while serving families from all backgrounds.
Paola works in the social work field and is committed to helping families feel supported, empowered, and successful as they adjust to life with a new baby. She is also a certified Trust Based Relational Intervention (TBRI) Practitioner.
Paola’s goal is to provide compassionate care and help families feel heard, comfortable, and cared for during the postpartum period. Outside of work, she enjoys spending time in nature and going on hikes.
Nova - Vermillion, SD Area

Nova Donstad (They/Them) is a second generation Birth Doula out of Vermillion, South Dakota. Nova developed a passion for birth work from observing their late mother, who worked as a birth doula over two decades. After spending two years working as a hospital CNA, Nova decided to pursue their calling for supporting birthing parents. Nova is especially passionate about serving LGBTQ2S+ birthing parents and families, holding a firm belief that every person should feel safe, supported, and heard in the birthing space. They offer a gender-affirming approach to birth and the language around pregnancy and postpartum. Nova is a versatile support and can match energy in the birthing space to be what is needed during each moment of the birth experience.
Besides their doula work, Nova owns and operates Outside of a Dog Books and Games in Vermillion, with their husband and two cats Itty Bitty and Biggie Smalls. In their spare time, they enjoy reading, listening to audio books, and knitting.

Ashley provides comprehensive doula services to Sioux Falls and the surrounding areas. Her journey through six pregnancies, five births–including miscarriage, stillbirth, and postpartum depression–has shaped her understanding and empathy towards others experiencing pregnancy, birth, loss and the postpartum transition period.
Blending personal experience with professional expertise, Ashley's approach emphasizes empowerment, informed decision-making, natural childbirth supports, and compassionate care. She prioritizes tailoring each experience to meet the unique needs of each family she assists. Ashley's empathy, warmth, and compassion give her the ability to connect on a deep level, helping create a comfortable and confident atmosphere during both the birth process and the postpartum period.
Ashley received her training through CPI and is seeking further certification through Stillbirthday.

Haley is a birth and postpartum Doula providing care to the Sioux Falls and surrounding areas. She has been a nurse for 18 years and currently working part time in the surgical towers providing preop and recovery care to clients of all age ranges. Haley strives to provide individualized compassionate care to each client, fostering a positive and empowering experience.
With a passion to encourage and serve others, Haley brings that calm, comforting atmosphere during the birth and postpartum journeys where every person feels supported, empowered, and heard. She is certified with childbirth professionals international (CPI).
Haley is married and has 3 children. When she is not at work, she enjoys spending time with her friends and family, cheering her kids on in their sports, boating or just a great night at home with a fire pit or popcorn and a movie.
Tesza

Tesza is a birth and postpartum doula, and proud mom of four. She is passionate about connecting with moms and helping them along their journey in birth and motherhood.
Throughout each of Tesza’s own births (3 at the hospital and 1 at home), she has loved learning more about birth and breastfeeding. She is thrilled that she gets to walk alongside other mothers in these intimate life moments.
When Tesza is not busy homeschooling her kids, she likes to go out hiking and biking when the weather is nice, staying active and busy in the sunshine. Tesza lives in Brandon with her family.

Sadie’s intentions are to approach care through a trauma informed lens and advocate for those who have no voice. While Sadie will serve ANY client happily, she strives to focus her services on high needs communities. Single and teen parents — Black, Brown, and Indigenous families. All families, identities, and cultures will be affirmed while in her care.

In addition to birth doula work with Transitions, Sarah practices chiropractic at Prairie Roots Health in Sioux Falls. While in chiropractic school, Sarah became increasingly drawn to working with pregnant women. She wanted to understand not just the physical aspects of pregnancy and birth, but the full story of the women and families she was serving. That curiosity led Sarah to complete DONA International doula training, where she discovered a deep calling to support women through pregnancy, birth, and the postpartum period. Witnessing birth is truly sacred — bringing new life into the world is the most magical experience, and one that continually strengthens Sarah’s faith. It is hard to witness such power, beauty, and design without believing in something greater.

RiAnna - Mitchell, SD Area

RiAnna is a birth and postpartum doula serving the Mitchell area. Her path to doula work began out of a drive to impact her community for the better. RiAnna has a BA in Theology/Youth Ministry and has worked different positions in education and non profit work. Managing a childcare center during the pandemic, while giving birth to her own two children, gave her a greater understanding of how to best support families. RiAnna believes investments in families from pregnancy and birth to age 5 have the greatest return on investment. Her doula work encompasses a whole team mentality with an emphasis on connection and client education.
Outside of lifting up families and their labor choices, RiAnna spends time advocating for childcare and paid family leave polices, watching TV with her spouse and taking her kids to the library.

Kristin - Yankton, SD Area

As a married mom of three energetic boys, Kristin understands firsthand the beauty and transformation that pregnancy, birth, and postpartum bring. Her own experiences inspired Kristin to become a certified birth and postpartum doula with a breastfeeding certification, so she can walk alongside families during one of the most meaningful seasons of their lives.
Kristin holds a Bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education and she is currently pursuing her Master’s in Early Childhood Studies. Kristin’s educational background gives her a deep understanding of child development and family dynamics, allowing her to support parents with both compassion and evidence-based knowledge.
Kristin believes that every person deserves a birth experience that feels empowering, supported, and beautiful. Her role is to help you achieve your pregnancy and labor goals while providing steady, reassuring support for you and your baby.
When she’s not supporting families, you can find Kristin reading, baking, or creating handmade home items like soaps and lotions. Kristin values warmth, creativity, and nurturing care… qualities she brings into every birth room she enters!
Brianna

Brianna graduated in 2025 from Sioux Falls Christian. She serves Transitional Care clients as well as provides night nanny support.
With extensive nanny experience and a strong healthcare background, Brianna has pursued multiple certifications to expand her ability to serve others. She has completed online coursework to become a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) and gained hands-on experience working in a nursing home. She is also a certified lifeguard, receiving training in extensive life support and first aid. In addition, Brianna earned her Certified Medication Aide (CMA) certification through more courses and currently works in assisted living, continuing her commitment to quality care.
Her desire is to serve others and to do it with intention. She loves to go the extra mile to show love and support to the people she is helping. With a background of seeing her mother and grandmother serve deeply with care and intention as nurses for their patients and their own family it has pushed her to do the same.
Brianna will attend Minnesota Sate University, Mankato in the fall of 2026 for nursing. With excitement and anticipation, she can’t wait to see what’s in store for her there.

Cait is a birth and postpartum doula serving Brookings and the surrounding communities. She believes every family deserves compassionate, personalized support throughout pregnancy, birth, and especially the postpartum season. With a calm, reassuring approach and a passion for nurturing care, she strives to help parents feel informed, empowered, and never alone as they welcome a new baby.
As a homeschooling mom of two daughters and a naturally holistic minded parent, Cait understands that no two families are alike. She has a special heart for supporting single mothers, creating a safe, judgment-free space where they feel seen, encouraged, and cared for during one of life’s biggest transitions. Her own experience of giving birth without the support she needed inspired her to become the doula she once wished she had.
Cait is currently continuing her education through Pregnancy & Infant Loss (PAIL) training. As a Medicaid approved provider, she is committed to making compassionate, evidence-based doula care accessible to more families. She believes learning never stops and is dedicated to providing thoughtful, individualized support to every family she serves.
When she’s not supporting families, Cait loves spending time making memories with her daughters, getting lost in a good book, and working on a variety of creative projects, especially crochet and embroidery.

Lauren is a certified birth and postpartum doula supporting single moms, and families in Sioux Falls and the surrounding areas. As a mom herself, Lauren brings empathy, understanding, and a calm, grounding presence to the families she serves.
In addition to her doula certification, she is also a Safe Sleep Ambassador through Cribs for Kids. She has taken interest in furthering her knowledge in Spinning Babies, lactation, and HypnoBirthing.
In addition to doula work, Lauren also offers maternity, birth, first 48, newborn, and milestone photography, beautifully capturing the real, raw, and intimate moments of motherhood.
Lauren lives on an acreage northwest of Sioux Falls with her son and corgi named Moose. In her free time, Lauren enjoys thrift shopping, reading books, country music concerts, volunteering at church, and spending time with friends and family.
